Ege Ä°hracatçılar Birligi, Turkey | 2021
Inspired by the geographical formation of the Lithosphere, an urban furniture collection, consisting of 5 different modules, adjoining existing topographies, either solo or in groups, aims a new habitat for the local audience including street animals by positioning itself with the urge of causing a rupture in the way of living in the city, which we have started questioning with the pandemic.
12 natural stones (Eskisehir Süpren, Elazıg Visne, Aksehir Siyah, Manyas Beyaz, Bilecik Bej, Kaplan Postu, Denizli Traverten, Ege Bordo, Milas Leylak, Gemlik Diyabaz, Afyon Seker and Burdur Bej), that are sourced locally in Turkey, well-known in the global market, have been selected for the outer shell of these modules, aims giving a new identity and building up a landmark in undefined city scapes alongside recycling the remains from stone quarries. The production is planned to be carried out via workshops, that will be open to Architecture and Fine Arts faculty students, each and every piece coming to life in forms of unique structures.
